The Duke’s is the hidden gem of St Andrews. I highly recommend it. A lovely heathland course, rated as one of the top inland courses in the country. A beautiful, quiet, serene location two miles inland, with stunning view of St Andrews, and, over the Firth of Tay, to Carnoustie. It can be a brute, especially from the tips (7500+ yards), but it’s also one of the few places around where they allow carts. Many players come up here in the afternoon for nine quick holes after a morning of links golf down in St Andrews. That’s nice too, but I’d recommend playing all 18 – you won’t be disappointed!
